Pipsqueak (cat 5000!)
We had a lovely note from Denise who said:
Hello Chestnut Cat Sanctuary,
Attached is a word document written by our cat to add to your website. Squeaky Pip thought you would like to know what his life is like so he has included some photographs and comments about himself.
Thanks to everyone there for their fantastic work.
Best wishes, Denise.
Blimey we get some clever cats these days! We'd better hear what he has to say for himself, then...
Hello, my name is Pipsqueak or otherwise known at the sanctuary as cat No. 5000!
I was adopted in May 2008 aged 8 months and I managed to fool my carers at the sanctuary and my new friends into thinking I was a lap cat. Maybe I will be when I am older but for the moment life is for having fun.
With a name like Pipsqueak I have to have lots of nicknames and the ones I like best are “You’re so lovely” and “Squeaky Boy” . The latter one is due to my penchant for talking to anyone who passes.
I chose my new friends by jumping up at the cage entrance to get at them as they passed through the sanctuary. Well I had to do something to be noticed amongst all those other lovely cats in the sanctuary. They took me home and it took me all of 10 minutes to explore their home and settle in. I decided from the outset that I do not need a bed as the duvet is so lovely and the upholstered chairs are all I could hope for when I am downstairs
As you can see from the photographs below I like to be active. So much so that we receive lots of visitors who come especially to see me. I am always well behaved and greet them as they come up the garden path to the house. We all have a great time frolicking in the garden or playing with my toys inside if the weather is bad.
I hope you enjoy my photographs and don’t think I am too big headed.
This picture above shows my physique at its best. Just see that long strong tail which means I am good at balancing.
I can also run very fast so I am able to get up to all sorts of mischief.
Hide and seek is one of my favourite pastimes.
On the right I am playing skating on the greenhouse roof. This is great fun and sometimes I wait on the ridge of its roof so I can jump on the head of anyone coming out of the greenhouse.
On the left you can see me in my favourite pear tree. I practise walking along the thinnest branches as the tree is in need of pruning. I do get a bit upset, though, if no one comes to catch me as I fall to the ground with the broken branches.
With all that activity I have to rest sometimes I like this chair during the day as the sun shines directly onto it.
It does have its drawbacks because I am a bit too long for it and always fall off when I turn over.
Thanks Denise and Pipsqueak for your lovely letter and photos!
