Fat Eric, the celebrity cat!

Fat Eric, the celebrity cat - just one of many rescue cats adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexA cat with his own website? That'd be Fat Eric, just one of many cats happily adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary.

On his website - http://fatericandfriends.blogspot.com - Fat Eric admits to being a Scorpio and living in Walthamstow. He also gives his occupation as "fat cat", naturally!

His owner, Kate, whom Eric describes as his "human servant", told us the story:

"We adopted Fat Eric and his sister Hattie from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in October 2004 (they were called Max and Molly before we changed their names). They were both extremely fluffy, a ginger and white brother and sister and 8 years old at the time.

"Sadly, only 5 months after we adopted them Hattie died from cancer, despite the best efforts of our vet. Fat Eric, however, is still running the house at the age of 12 and a half. He is a very affectionate character with many strange little habits, and still licks people's hair whenever he gets a chance, as he did to the staff at Chestnut too...

"Fat Eric has also become an Internet celebrity with his own website for the past two years at http://fatericandfriends.blogspot.com, and gets lots of presents from his American fans.

"We have thought about adopting another cat but Eric seems to prefer being a spoilt only cat, these days, and quickly sees off other cats who visit his garden.

"Just thought you would like to know about a former Chestnut cat who is very much still living it large!"

Let Fat Eric keep living it up for many years to come!
