Bailey & Lucy

Bailey & Lucy - mum and daughter, adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in 2003Jan wrote to us from Buckhurst Hill, where she lives with two beautiful cats adopted from us a few years ago now. She wrote to tell us how they're all getting on...

These are my two cats, Bailey and Lucy, who I adopted from you on 1 October 2003.

Bailey - adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in 2003They're mother and daughter - Bailey is now 7 and Lucy is 6.

They live in a little quiet close on the edge of Epping Forest, with plenty of cat friends nearby, and lots of squirrels and birds to keep them entertained.

Lucy's hobby is ornithology - she watches those birds for hours. Bailey's hobby appears to be sleeping!

Lucy - adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in 2003Bailey was ill earlier this year - she developed a cancer called a spindle cell sarcoma, but thanks to my great vet (Alistair Duncan at Palmerston Vet Hospital) and my pet insurance, she has made a full recovery.
I cannot emphasise too much the importance of keeping your cats insured!

Bailey & Lucy - mum and daughter, adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in 2003My two furgirls are a constant source of delight, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to give them a home.

Best wishes,
Jan O'Leary

Thanks for your lovely letter and great photos Jan!
